In the case of our country, Universitario and Alianza Lima are two classical soccer rivals. Both of those teams have some differences regarding: foundation, popularity, and championships.

In the first thing Alianza Lima and Universitario de Deportes are dissimilar is in their foundation. For one thing, Universitario was founded on August seventh in 1924 by some university students of the UNMSM. In contrast, Alianza Lima was founded by some citizens on February fifteenth in 1901. That is why some people, including journalist and fans, believe that Alianza Lima is the team of the town, while Universitario represents students. Besides, some people believe that Alianza Lima's fans are poor people and Universitario's fans are the wealthy ones.

The second difference between those two teams is the popularity and hooligans they have. First of all, it was shown in many surveys, such as the one of the Lima University this year that Alianza Lima's popularity is second only to the popularity of Universitario. Although Alianza Lima had more fans in the 80's, Universitario throughout its championships has been made the most popular soccer team of Peru. Secondly, those two popular soccer teams differ in their hooligans. Universitario's hooligans are called the "Trinchera Norte", whereas Alianza Lima's ones are called the "Comando Sur". Those two groups of hooligans are the most famous ones here since they belong to the most popular soccer teams of Peru.

The last difference between those two teams is the championships they have gotten. First, Alianza Lima has gotten 22 championships here in Peru. Getting these titles has made Alianza Lima the second team with more championships in Peru on account of the fact that Universitario is the one with more titles. Currently, Universitario has 24 championships, and it is the team that has gotten more of these titles here. Even though those two teams do not have well-known international championships, Universitario compared to Alianza Lima has been made better participations whenever it comes to talking about the South American Cup of soccer clubs and the Libertadores Cup.

In brief, there are many differences with those two teams whenever it comes to talkiing about foundation, championships, and popularity. Thus, it is up to you deciding to be fan of Universitario de Deportes or Alianza Lima.
